Pirate bases

Where pirate bases appear, how to find them with a phalanx and what a raid pays.

Pirate bases are outposts of the pirates, not planets. Each galaxy has one base for every 25 systems, and a destroyed base is replaced 6 hours later somewhere else.

Finding them

You see a base while a Phalax Sensor on one of your moons covers its system. A higher phalanx level covers more systems, and seeing a base costs nothing. The Pirates page lists every base you see, how strong it is and how much it holds.

Raiding

Raid a base from the Pirates page: the fleet page opens with the raid mission chosen. At most 3 of your raids can fly at once, and you can start 10 a day. The pirates fight without any technology. If your fleet wins, it loads loot from the base's stock, as much as its cargo holds carry.

A won raid also pays combat experience (Experience and achievements).

Levels

Every base has a level. The share says how often a new base gets that level.

Questions

Why do I not see any pirate base?

A base shows only while a Sensor Phalanx on one of your moons covers its system. Build a moon and a phalanx, and raise the phalanx to cover more systems.

Can another player take my raid's loot?

No. A raid fights the pirates alone, and the loot flies home in your cargo holds like any other.
