Zyperax for OGame players

If you have played OGame or one of the many games like it, you already know most of Zyperax. This page says what carries over, what is different and where to start. Zyperax is its own game: it is not an OGame server, private or official, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Gameforge, which owns the OGame trademark.

What will feel familiar

The core loop is the classic one. Metal, crystal and deuterium mines feed everything, and every level costs more than the last. Mines need energy, so a solar plant keeps them running; Buildings lists them all with their costs in a live universe.

Research unlocks better drives, weapons and shields, and the shipyard turns resources into fleets and defences. Fleets fly between coordinates in a galaxy of systems and positions, attack, transport and colonise, and a battle leaves debris that recyclers can collect. Combat explains the rounds and the debris, and Fleet speed and fuel how long a flight takes and what it burns.

Alliances, raids, expeditions and vacation mode work the way you expect, and a universe can protect new players by their points for their first days.

What is different

One account, several universes. You sign up once on zyperax.com, and the same account joins any universe. Right now there are 1:

Each universe shows its speeds, its age and the systems it runs before you join, and Choosing a universe helps you pick. The speeds are moderate: Zyperax does not chase the 500x and 1000x numbers some servers advertise, so planning still matters.

Seasons. A universe can run in seasons, with a defined start and end and a record of who finished on top. Seasons has the details.

Systems of its own. Factions, hunts and bosses, pirate bases, asteroid mining, the stash and the alliance base are Zyperax systems with no direct counterpart in the classic game. Each has its own guide page with the live numbers.

Open about money. The whole game is playable for free. Each universe lists exactly what its membership gives there, and Antimatter explains what money can buy.

Public rules. The rules are written in plain words, and the sanctions of the last 90 days are public on the rules page.
